A 55º noite do Grammy 2013 foi atípica, se compararmos com as premiações dos anos anteriores, onde os artistas do mundo pop se sobressairam.
O rock alternativo falou mais alto na cerimônia mais importante da indústria da música, realizada neste domingo (10) em Los Angeles (EUA). O maior vencedor da noite foi a banda Mumford & Sons que conquistou duas estatuetas do Grammy de Melhor Álbum de Rock e Álbum do Ano pelo seu trabalho no álbum Babel, lançado em setembro do ano passado.
Outro nome muito badalado da música alternativa, o cantor Gotye faturou os prêmios de Gravação do Ano e Melhor Performance de Pop Colaborativa pelo single Somebody That I Used To Know, além do prêmio de Melhor Álbum de Música Alternativa por Making Mirrors. Este vídeo tem sido um grande sucesso no canal YouTube com mais de 300 milhões de visualizações. Outro grupo alternativo, o fun. conquistou o prêmio de Melhor Canção do Ano por We Are Young.
A cantora britânica Adele ganhou mais um prêmio: um Grammy de Melhor Performance Pop (Solo) para Set Fire To The Rain, ao vivo no The Royal Albert Hall, em Londres.
